Marie's Adventure First-Hour Route

Minute-by-minute plan for the opening hour, so Sylva City Inn is ready before your first 100% pregnancy.

First-Hour Route

Marie’s Adventure drops you into a small village with no map marker and a single mandatory story beat: walk until you unlock Sylva City. Most first-hour confusion comes from skipping NPCs and never realizing the pregnancy meter has quietly started ticking. This route is a minute-by-minute plan that turns the opening hour into predictable checkpoints instead of wandering.\n\nUse it with Getting Started for the broad strokes and the Pregnancy System page once the blessing activates. The page assumes you are on v1.12 with Windows Defender exclusions already set; if not, read Troubleshooting first.\n\n## Minute 0–5 — install hygiene\n\nBefore the executable even launches:\n\n1. Install from your storefront of choice — Steam is the most painless, but itch and DLsite work identically.\n2. Add the install folder to Windows Defender exclusions (Settings → Virus & threat protection → Exclusions). The launcher JSON trips heuristics on first scan.\n3. Launch once to confirm boot, then close. This generates the save folder path you will need for Save Files backup later.\n4. Right-click the executable → Run as administrator if your screen goes white or black on first boot. The developer lists this on the official sticky.\n\n## Minute 5–15 — starting village tutorial\n\nYou wake up in a small village. The opening script queues a short fight. During this beat:\n\n- Tap every NPC once before leaving a map. Quest flags hide behind one-off dialogue.\n- Pick up the difficulty item dropped near the goddess meeting. You can return later and change difficulty mid-run.\n- Open the menu once to confirm where the status, save, and load buttons live. You will tap them hundreds of times.\n- Note the Church pin on the local map but do not enter yet — the tutorial does not unlock fertility upgrades until chapter 2.\n

Minute 15–35 — first dungeon crawl\n\nThe story pushes you through a beginner dungeon to teach turn-based combat. While you clear it:\n\n- Save after every boss. RPG Maker autosave is not bullet-proof; reloads are free.\n- Let Stamina deplete naturally once. The v1.0e rule halves EXP gain after empty Stamina, so you need to know how it feels.\n- Pick up the slime / lizard drops so your Bestiary progress starts — see Bestiary for the full enemy table.\n- Note any merchant NPC. Buy one potion so you do not learn the price during a panic restock.\n

Minute 35–50 — arrival at Sylva City\n\nThe overworld pin lights up. Before sprinting in:\n\n- Walk the outer perimeter of Sylva once. This is your first real exploration tick that advances any pregnancy percentage you may have started earlier.\n- Save at the city entrance save circle. Sylva saves are the safe rollback for the rest of the game.\n- Find the Inn, Church, and Market pins. The Inn is where every scripted birth scene will fire; visit it once now so the map is anchored.\n- Talk to the Inn clerk once even though you cannot sleep here yet. Some story flags only fire after a first interaction.\n

Minute 50–60 — pregnancy unlock and plan\n\nA scripted scene triggers Marie’s blessing. From here:\n\n- Open the status menu. Look for the breast milk capacity field — it starts at 300 for a fresh pregnancy and the multiples math runs off this number.\n- Walk the Sylva market twice. Two full circuits are roughly 4–6 minutes of gameplay and enough to confirm the percentage meter climbs.\n- Visit the Church once and check the fertility upgrade cost. You will want to know the price before chapter 2.\n- Save with a clear name like story-sylva-arrival.\n

Common first-hour detours\n\n- Trying to sleep to progress pregnancy. Sleep never ticks the meter; only walking, fighting, and brothel shifts do.\n- Expecting birth at any inn. Only Sylva City Inn fires labor scenes. Other inns heal and advance story time but skip the delivery.\n- Ignoring the difficulty item. Mid-game difficulty spikes are tied to it. Pick it up even if you do not change the setting now.\n- Loading old saves from demo builds. Demo saves do not carry into the commercial release cleanly. Start fresh on v1.12.\n

What this route does NOT cover\n\n- Brothel shifts. Those unlock after a story gate; see the Brothel Guide once available.\n- Multiples hunting. That requires Church fertility upgrades and save-scum timing described in How to Get Multiples.\n- Combat depth. After the tutorial, refer to Combat Basics for damage formulas and Party Progression for talent pacing.\n

  • Getting Started — broad first-session overview.\n- Sylva City — Inn, Church, and Market in detail.\n- Pregnancy System — how the meter ticks after the blessing.\n- Bestiary — enemy unlock pacing per chapter.\n- How to Give Birth — the delivery sequence once you hit 100%.\n Treat the opening hour as a setup phase, not a story phase. Get Sylva pinned, save twice, walk the perimeter, and the rest of the game stops feeling like guessing.
FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How long does the opening take in Marie's Adventure?

About an hour for first-time players on v1.12 with the route above. Speedrun players hit Sylva City in 25 minutes, but you miss story flags.

Should I sleep to advance pregnancy?

No. Sleep alone never advances the pregnancy meter. Only walking, fighting, and brothel shifts move the percentage.

Can I skip the difficulty item?

Mechanically you can, but mid-game difficulty spikes become harder to manage. Pick it up even if you do not change settings.

Where do I save before the first dungeon?

At the save circle outside the dungeon entrance. Sylva City has its own save circle that becomes your long-term rollback anchor.

Does demo save transfer to v1.12?

No. Demo saves do not carry into the commercial release cleanly. Start a fresh file on v1.12.
