Marie's Adventure Echoes & Nun's Stations

Where the fountain upgrade lives, how sisters spend Echoes, and why Jurai prep starts here.

Echoes & Nun's Stations

Echoes are the progression currency launch Steam reviews keep calling opaque. Players notice pickups, then cannot find a clean menu that explains what they buy. Community clears for the Jurai Castle boss finally named the missing loop: spend Echoes at the sisters in Sylva City after you unlock the fountain divine-crystal upgrade Nun’s Stations. This page is that loop in plain language so Difficulty Settings can stay a slider hub instead of a wall of item essays.

Stay on v1.0h (August 16, 2026). Numbered notes never retitled Echoes, but later letters change the fights you spend them for: Killswipe and Demonology Rewrite in v1.0g, Auto-milking Config and unfocused-window play in v1.0h (Release Notes). Do not grind Echoes on a leftover 1.0c folder while following a Jurai checklist written after those fixes.

What Echoes are (and are not)

Treat Echoes as story-gated upgrade currency, not brothel gold and not Church fertility.

ResourceWhere it livesWhat it buys
EchoesField pickups + story flagsAttack and MP recovery at the sisters, after Nun’s Stations
GoldShops, BrothelPotions, Adamantite Charm, town stock
Church blessingsSylva ChurchLitter odds before conception (Fertility Boosts)
ChromaCombat growthStat tiers; Vitality 3 was wrong until v1.0c (Chroma)

Steam reviews that complain about opaque Echoes are describing the same gap: the game lets you collect the currency before it teaches the sink. Do not sell, dump, or ignore Echo piles. Check key-item / status screens after major story beats so you notice Nun’s Stations when it appears.

Sylva fountain and town loop

Nun’s Stations — fountain first

Community wording from the Jurai thread is specific enough to document:

  1. In Sylva City, use the fountain.
  2. Unlock the divine-crystal upgrade named Nun’s Stations.
  3. Only then do the sisters accept Echoes for Attack and MP recovery speed.

If the sisters have nothing useful, you are early — not broken. Finish the story beat that lights the fountain upgrade, then come back. This wiki will not invent a chapter number the community has not published.

Nun’s Stations is not the Church fertility counter. Fertility still lives at the Church for conception rolls. The fountain upgrade is a combat sink so later bosses stop feeling like a stamina tax.

Why Jurai players discovered this first

The itch thread Jurai Castle Boss (1,000+ views) is blunt: Adamantite Charm is mandatory, and you should also raise Attack and MP recovery via Echoes at the sisters or via Chroma and treasures. Players who skip Nun’s Stations show up to phase one with Elucia starving for MP on Shield Bash. Momo Fruits paper over a missing upgrade; they do not replace it (Jurai Boss, ALTOMYOSTR).

Practical routing:

  1. Deliver pending pregnancies in Sylva so birth power-ups land (How to Give Birth).
  2. Confirm Nun’s Stations on the fountain.
  3. Spend Echoes at the sisters before you buy a third stack of fruit.
  4. Buy Adamantite Charm at the ALTOMYOSTR training-ground shop for Marie, Elucia, and Ran — one charm is not enough.
  5. Fill stamina. Empty stamina halves Combat EXP on v1.0e+ (Combat Basics).

Echoes versus the goddess slider

Lowering difficulty at Goddess Lavia’s magic circle (the ground item in the opening meeting area) does not spend Echoes and does not flatten Jurai the way it helps overworld packs (Difficulty Settings). Community posts on that castle boss say the slider barely moves the fight. Echoes, charms, and births are the real curve.

Safe Day Max HP landed in v1.0f with exclusions. Remuru’s Safe Day HP scaling was corrected in v1.0g. Re-test those walls after the letters, but do not expect Nun’s Stations to become a skip button.

Pregnancy while you farm Echoes

Walking Sylva still ticks gestation. v1.0g logs Overdue. If that line appears while you are fountain-grinding, sleep at the Inn — labor still only fires in Sylva. v1.0e can block automatic childbirth; v1.0h can block automatic milking on sleep (Content Settings).

Do not enter Jurai Castle at 100% because you wanted one more Echo chest. The quest looks time-limited; early entry plus an overdue heroine is how people delete saves.

There is no verified YouTube for this fountain loop beyond the fan gameplay already embedded on Getting Started. This wiki will not invent a second video ID.

Echoes are not flavor text. Unlock Nun’s Stations, spend them on Attack and MP recovery, then buy the charm. That is how mid-game walls stop looking like a missing unofficial accessory.
