Marie's Adventure Duskspire Enemy Order Puzzle

Decode the sun inscription, fight statues in the right path, and avoid soft-lock retries.

Duskspire Guide

Duskspire is a post-launch soft-lock magnet: an inscription tells you how to defeat statue enemies, but players report that naive “east to west” or clockwise sweeps do nothing. This guide explains the clue wording, how to test orders safely, and how Duskspire fits combat routing — without inventing an unverified statue sequence that would send your save into a worse mess.

The inscription

Community players quote:

“This spire governs the sun. Begin where dawn first touches stone, And follow the sun’s path, until the day yields to dusk.”

Natural-language reading:

  1. Start at dawn — the easternmost / first-light statue position.
  2. Follow the sun’s path — the arc the sun travels across the sky (east → south → west in classic fantasy mapping, not a pure camera clockwise relative to your sprite).
  3. End at dusk — the western / evening position.

Players who tried counter-clockwise from the right statue or clockwise from the left reported no trigger. That usually means either:

  • The local map’s “left/right” is not true east/west relative to the sun metaphor, or
  • A prior flag / wrong kill already dirtied the encounter set.

Safe testing method

  1. Save before the room on a clean slot (Save Files).
  2. Note which statue is visually tied to morning motifs (light, gold, east-facing props) versus evening.
  3. Defeat statues in one complete hypothesized path, then check for a door, chest, or cutscene flag.
  4. If nothing happens, reload — do not keep killing respawns on a half-solved flag if the room allows it.
  5. Confirm you are on v1.0c so unrelated cutscene soft-locks are already patched (Release Notes).

Combat encounter

Combat tips while solving

Duskspire fights still cost resources. Bring the stamina/EXP lessons from Combat Basics: resting matters, empty stamina can stall EXP gains, and mid-game bosses elsewhere (Remuru, Festival Rival) already punish underleveled parties (Difficulty Settings).

If pregnancy is near term, remember walking inside Duskspire still advances gestation — plan a Sylva City delivery window before a long puzzle session.

When we will publish an exact order

As of this writing the itch thread asking for the order has no confirmed public solution. Publishing a guessed sequence would violate this wiki’s accuracy rules. Once a verified clear (screenshot + version) lands, a spoiler block will appear here.

Read the sun metaphor in world space, save before each full attempt, and treat failed sweeps as data — not a reason to wipe your only slot.

Orientation tricks without spoiling order

Photograph or note the room from the entrance so you can label statues relative to world light, not camera spin. If the map has windows, murals, or floor inlays suggesting sunrise, treat those as stronger clues than your current facing direction. Reload between full attempts so leftover kill flags do not muddy results.

Bring potions and a recent Sylva birth. Duskspire is still a combat room — puzzle focus does not make demons polite. If pregnancy is above 80%, consider delivering first; puzzle retries burn walking time that can push you overdue.

Reporting a confirmed clear

When you solve it, post storefront, exact version (1.0c?), and a short clip or screenshot sequence on itch. This wiki will then publish a clearly labeled spoiler block. Until that evidence exists, we refuse to guess an order that could brick someone else’s only save.

Cross-link habit: finish Library Puzzle mindset (read local clues, update first) applies here too. Both rooms punish impatient random clicking more than careful reading.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What does the Duskspire inscription mean?

Start where dawn/first light touches stone, then follow the sun's arc to dusk. Map that onto the statues' true east-to-west positions, not necessarily screen-left clockwise.

I tried clockwise and counter-clockwise and nothing happened — bug?

Maybe a dirty flag or wrong orientation. Reload a pre-room save, re-identify dawn vs dusk statues, and ensure you are on v1.0c.

Is there an official statue order yet?

No verified public solution is posted on the developer community thread yet. This wiki will add a spoiler section when one is confirmed.
